2020 has been incredibly challenging for all of us as we all faced the Covid-19 Pandemic. It has impacted every one of you. With that said, a decision was made within the last few weeks to protect the safety of our participants and to keep the mission of raising money for the Center for Safety & Change in focus. The WDF will be a Virtual Race this year as we anticipate the Pandemic to not permit an in person race for many months, and we will not wait for political leaders to tell us what we expect to hear. With that said, raising money for the mission of the Center for Safety & Change has always been our goal. However, this year, the goal is even more important as most every one of their fundraising events has been cancelled due to the Pandemic. We need you now, more than ever, to register for Virtual Women's Distance Festival 5K as WE MUST reach over #wdf1000 women and girls strong.
While we will miss seeing everyone on July 11th, going virtual allows more flexibility!! You can run or walk your 5K from July 11th at 8am to July 18th at 8am and report your results on the race web page! We will still do a Safe Social Distancing Packet Pickup outdoors and the Center for Safety & Change on July 10th (2-6pm) and July 11th (11-1pm). The Center is located at 9 Johnsons Lane, New City. You may have your swag bags mailed to you at an additional cost of 6 dollars, and this feature can be added at checkout.
Please join us for the Virtual Women's Distance Festival 5K Run/Walk on Saturday July 11th through Saturday July 18th for the largest Women's only 5k in the tristate area, as we come together to raise money to help the Center for Safety & Change in their mission to support, house and provide services to ALL victims of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking and all crimes.
We simplified registration!!! You can still sign up for the 5K as an individual or create a Mother/Daughter, Sister/Sister, or Grandmother/Granddaughter team. We also have a team event for groups of 5 or more and the Team Spirit Award will still be given! You can select team registration after selecting the 5K!
Online Registration is $25 for Rockland Road Runner members, and $30 for non-members. Team registrations are available for Mother/Daughter, Sister/Sister, or Grandmother/Granddaughter at $50 provided that at least one team member is a Rockland Road Runner. If neither is a Rockland Road Runner, then the cost will be $60. Teams of 5 runners/walkers are available for a discounted cost of $25 a team member provided that the team meets a minimum requirement of 5 members.

This year our donation campaign is #wdf1111makeawish. I make a wish when I see the clock at 11:11 that my 3 daughters can live in a world where there is no domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Until that day arrives, there is no finish line in how much money we raise for the Center for Safety & Change! Please donate to help in the mission of the Center.
This year, the WDF is joining the Zero F's Given campaign! Zero F's Given is a campaign to raise awareness and help victimized and disenfranchised populations heal from sexual trauma, find their voice, and reclaim their power. Created by Anita Kopacz, Zero F's Given is launching as a campaign to help The Center for Safety & Change. We would be honored to have you on this journey with us!
